TransitionReady (transitionready.tech) is an AI-powered tool designed for educators and special education professionals. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users and, above all, the children in their care.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

2. What We Collect

Information you provide when creating an account:

• Name and email address
• Password (encrypted and never readable by us)
• Professional role (e.g., special education teacher)

Content you choose to save:

• Lesson plans, rubrics, and transition plans you generate and save
• Student progress monitoring logs (stored locally on your browser device)

Usage data (anonymous):

• Pages visited and features used
• Device type and browser (no fingerprinting)
• General location (country/region only)

3. What We Never Collect

Any student progress monitoring logs exist on your local device. We require educators to use initials or anonymized student IDs (e.g., 'Student A' or 'J.S.') rather than full names in any prompts or entry forms.

4. FERPA Compliance & Local Storage

TransitionReady is built with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) principles at its core. We do not collect or store confidential student education records on central servers. Progress tracking data remains local to your device cache. All lesson plans, rubrics, and materials generated through our platform belong to the educator and contain no student-identifying information.

5. AI Provider Standards & Zero Model Training

TransitionReady utilizes commercial API endpoints provided by Anthropic (Claude) and Google AI (Gemini) to assist educators in generating content.

• Zero Retention & Training: Your prompt inputs and generated outputs are processed statelessly. Neither TransitionReady nor our AI provider API partners (Anthropic and Google) use your prompt text or data to train or fine-tune public AI foundation models.
• Educator Control: AI outputs are produced as drafts for human review. Educators maintain full authority over what materials are finalized and used in the classroom.

6. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

• Provide and improve our service
• Save and retrieve content you explicitly choose to save
• Send you service-related emails (account updates, not marketing, unless you opt in)
• Analyze anonymous usage patterns to improve the product

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data. Ever.

7. Data Sharing

We share necessary data only with:

• Anthropic & Google AI APIs — Enterprise-grade AI model processing for real-time plan generation under strict stateless, non-training API terms.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers — to operate the platform securely over HTTPS.
• Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

8. Data Retention, Local Storage, and Deletion

• Your saved content is retained until you delete it or close your account.
• Local browser data (such as progress tracking logs) remains stored in your local device cache until cleared by you.
• You can request deletion of all your data at any time by emailing us at customerservice@transitionready.online. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted password storage, and access controls. However, no system is perfectly secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or request a portable copy of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at customerservice@transitionready.online.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice in the app at least 30 days before changes take effect.
